User reviews:

For a free app, it’s basically as good as you can get. Ads aren’t very intrusive, lots of features, the leaderboard is motivating. It gives you opportunities for errorless learning which is cool (you can click on the words you don’t know in the question & it will show you the answer, which allows you to practice the correct answer instead of practicing a mistake). I think the weakest area is grammar, which isn’t really explained very much.

Pros: Languages get updated regularly, lessons are divided in a way that makes sense, and levels help introduce you to new vocabulary slowly. I love the animation, the humor, and the dark mode! Cons: It doesn’t automatically scroll down to where you left off, which is a pain for long courses. There isn’t a way to backtrack on a skill until you’ve completely mastered it. I’m halfway through learning numbers in Hawaiian and I want to redo level 1 but it wants me to move on to level 3 instead.

Makes learning a new language much easier than other apps & methods I’ve tried. The lessons are fun and the daily reminder feature is great! Highly recommend! The only negatives are a) the frequency and duration of the ads are irritating, and b) if you want to sign up for the ad free plus version, it is only payable by the year. Overall, I really think it’s more beneficial as a whole versus the 2 negatives.

It’s fun, challenging and engaging. I wish it was more consistent across languages. For example, Spanish, French, and Portuguese have stories one can use to improve conversational knowledge. Unfortunately these are not available for Norwegian, Irish or Welsh. I also wish they provided the slowed down speech for Irish that they offer for other languages. Overall these are relatively minor issues. The program really is great!

Awesome app! Long-time user, but it’s improved drastically over the years. Some languages are more expansive than others, but it’s all worth checking out! In addition to the traditional lessons (which are continually updated), there’s stories to follow along with and podcasts to build listening skills! I upgraded to the pro version and cannot recommend it enough! Extremely affordable (especially if you do yearly) and definitely worth the add-free feature, not to mention the other great benefits!
