To be blunt, Twitch is a platform for streaming and watching live performances. It was catered namely to gaming, but allows other sorts of expression such as chatting, singing, analysis, and critique. The app itself is adequate. Some functions may work strangely from phone to phone. I definitely don’t recommend using the app to make purchases, use your web browser. For all intents and purposes, you can use Twitch on Android with little issue the majority of the time.

I love Twitch and the content it represents and opens up BUT….this app has a lot of bugs and annoying issues that make it difficult to watch at times. Lag, buffering, repeating segments are just to name a few. It’s amazing that gamers have a platform to showcase their skill and personality, I just wish this app did a better job of stabilizing the viewing experience.

It used to be that hitting the back button would minimize the app and not close it. I should be able to scroll through my currently open apps without having it stop. Conversely, it can also be stupidly annoying to close. I’ll swipe down on the mini screen to exit and the audio will keep playing in the background.

It’s great, it does its job, but there always seems to be bad glitch that can ruin viewing experience, last update the video size would mess up Making the screen small sometimes when switching between pop out view outside the app, now this update its says “reconnecting to chat” indefinitely no matter how many times I reload the stream even if the connection is fine and the actual video plays without stuttering, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it worked until the next day, won’t stop.

I love his app, even though it has its faults. Sometimes, while streaming, the app just ends the broadcast. When this happens, I have to completely close the app and reset up the stream, or else I will be streaming a still image and the audio will continue. I would like a way to add my own scenes/overlays to the app to use while streaming. So I could use the same overlay that I use wile streaming on pc. I am happy with the recent update, giving me a preview window while streaming.
